Actually, this alpine specimen tree was ‘lowered’ into place, as it spent most of its life at the 5400-foot elevation in the Cascade Mountains. While clearly out of its native habitat, it is expected to do well and thrive in its new home, specifically designed by Bumgardner Architects.
